Micro-Community (Neighborhood) Organizers Gathering Needs to Share Publicly to Expedite Support
It’s Going to Take All of Us!

Creating standardization in supply chains is critical to efficiently allocate resources. Yet, the people on the ground affected, are the ones that know what they need the most. Safely communicating those needs to those that can help is done through organized coordination and collaboration.
Yet, Hurricane Helene has exposed that there has yet to be a standard operating procedure for stakeholder collaboration between government, nonprofit, and individual helpers to support those in need.
-
We believe that if you empower people to help people, then it's far less likely that people will get left behind. Government and even large national nonprofits do what they can, yet it's the boots on the ground NONPROFITS and HELPERS, "NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS", that creates the real change and accelerates aid and support not just in the beginning, but for the long haul until we all rebuild our lives and towns together.
-
Our goal is to solve supply and demand by gathering the needs of RECIPIENTS’ micro-community (neighborhoods) and then allocate resources (supply) through NONPROFITS and HELPERS. As RECIPIENTS organize locally, be sure to each micro-community covers all homes within a given area. Talk to neighboring communities as well to review your plans. Also, please keep track on your own within that community of all persons seeking assistance so no one is left without assistance while keeping individual names private.
We are actively building transparent software solutions that protects user privacy and support efficient communication and collaboration in times of disaster. If you’d like to contribute to our efforts, please fill out the form in the Contact Us section at the bottom of this page.
-
Notice: GiveTrust believes in individual user privacy so much that we do not wish to even hold the names of individuals in our databases to ensure that people's privacy is protected. The only names of people in the database are the chosen contacts and representatives of the nonprofits, helpers, and recipients. As neighborhoods, we encourage you to use wisdom in the personal information that you input into the system. All nonprofits need to know is how to contact you and a means of identifying that you are the correct contact to ensure resources get in the hands of the right people in each NEIGHBORHOOD. If anyone attempts to ask you for the list of names in your Neighborhood or HELPER group, we encourage you not to reveal those names. There are sadly people who wish to exploit vulnerable people in times desperation.
-
Notice: GiveTrust’s vetting process included social media posts of people validating the work, confirming nonprofit 501c3 status through an internet search, reviewing website and social media accounts, as well as checking www.charitynavigator.org. However, GiveTrust does not take responsibility for how nonprofits use donations as there is no way to make guarantees. Now is the time to be generous and trust one another. However, please report any known misuse in the contact form below.

Ways you can help other than giving money:
1- Volunteer: Go to the nonprofit websites and see if there are other ways to volunteer and help
2- Spread the Word: Follow and share the nonprofits, helpers, and recipients’ social media content you read about to your network and give testimonials regarding how they are helping. Share this GiveTrust web page through social media, messages to family and friends, etc. so others can also stay informed and contribute in their own way
3- Donate Blood: Donate blood to the American Red Cross - do a quick search to find your local blood donation site - https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive?adobe_mc=TS%3D1728071525%7CMCMID%3D74483800803651845473827996068781527838%7CMCORGID%3D723A22C757518E2C7F000101%2540AdobeOrg
4- Prayer: Pray for all who have been affected
5- Employment: Many businesses and jobs will be gone. Rally your churches and businesses to plan how you can support.
6- Clothes, Food, Supplies: Look around your house and see what you can donate and research the best way to get the supplies to the nonprofits helping on the frontlines.
7- Recommendations: Please send your ideas to GiveTrust of how we can improve the site. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
Letter from our Founder - Richard C. Peck - A.K.A The Philanthropy Guy
Hello friends,
My name is Richard “Rick” Peck and I am the founder and CEO of GiveTrust. I have been in the philanthropic giving space for nearly 20 years and have helped facilitate several hundred million dollars in charitable gifts for nonprofit institutions. You can learn more about me in the About Us page of the website.
We at GiveTrust are committed to addressing many of the challenges in charitable giving today. The disaster relief from Hurricane Helene has cast a spotlight on just how challenging it is to prioritize resources in an emergency situation. This event is unprecedented and the demand is extremely high.
Though we don’t yet have a means of efficient coordination between government, nonprofit, and for-profit companies, we are taking immediate action the best way we know how as a combined team of philanthropic, supply chain, and disaster relief experts to support the interests of those helping, in need, and those wishing to give money or volunteer in some way. Our hope is that we will make impact today, process our lessons learned, and use those lessons to be more effective in helping those in need in the future.
Please give in any way that you can.
Sincerely,
Richard C. Peck
